B.A. Organizational Leadership Program Guide | Undergraduate Catalog Description

The Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership is a multidisciplinary program of study for those interested in leadership theory and practice. The program prepares students to assume leadership roles in organizational settings in the public, private and nonprofit sectors.

The degree program is a joint venture of the Levin College of Urban Affairs, the Nance College of Business Administration, and the School of Communication. Students apply to the Levin College, where the major is housed. Graduation applications are processed through the Levin College, as well as student petitions regarding college and major field requirements, readmission, transfer credit evaluation appeals, late withdrawal, late registration, and credit-hour overload.

Graduates from AAB, AAS, AA, and AS degree programs can complete their Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Leadership from Cleveland State University. Classes can be taken at Lakeland Community College or CSU’s downtown campus.

Students take 22 credit hours of core courses and 16 credit hours in one of three tracks: Management track and Urban Studies track – all courses can be taken at LCC. The entire program is also offered at CSU’s main campus.

  • Communication track – core courses can be taken at LCC; track courses are only offered at the CSU main campus.
  • Internship opportunities are available to all students; scholarships are available to qualified students; required courses are available both day and evening; students in the urban studies track with substantial prior learning experience may apply for credit through the Assessment and Accreditation of Prior Learning Experience program (Contact Melanie Hmada, m.hmada@csuohio.edu or phone 216-687-4506). Opportunities to participate in small seminar groups, research projects, and online courses are available. Students should consult their advisers for assistance in planning coursework.
