- Center for American Politics and Citizenship, University of Maryland Publishes research on voting technology, campaign ethics, and campaign finance.
- Caltech/MIT Voting Technology Project. Project’s mission includes: Evaluating current state of reliability and uniformity of U.S. voting systems; establishing uniform attributes and quantitative guidelines for performance and reliability of voting systems; propose specific uniform guidelines and requirements for reliable voting systems.
- The Brennan Center's Voting & Representation Project. Promotes policies that protect rights to equal electoral access and political participation.
- Record Of American Democracy (ROAD) Data Center (Harvard & MIT) Includes election returns, socioeconomic summaries, and demographic measures of the American public at unusually low levels of geographic aggregation. The NSF-supported ROAD project covers every state in the country from 1984 through 1990 (including some off-year Election). One collection of data sets includes every election at and above State House, along with party registration and other variables, in each state for the roughly 170,000 precincts nationwide.
- Demos An organization working on voting rights and election reform, including major new efforts to bolster voter registration and voting and remove barriers to political participation.
- Electionline.org. A non-partisan, non-advocacy website providing current news and analysis on election reform around the United States.
- The Century Foundation, Election Reform. Papers on various issues relating to election reform.
- The Constitution Project. The Election Reform Initiative of the Constitution Project includes publications on voter registration, voter identification, election reform recommendations, and also tracks federal legislation.
- Election Law @ Moritz. Monitors legal developments arising from 2004 General Election. Maintains database of litigation documents and case law relating to election. Publishes papers and analyses to illuminate public understanding of election law and its role in a democracy.
- Election 2004 Documents Center University of Michigan election document clearinghouse.
- League of Women Voters. A nonpartisan political organization, encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
- Campaign Finance Institute. A non-partisan, non-profit institute, affiliated with The George Washington University, that conducts objective research and education, empanels task forces and makes recommendations for policy change in the field of campaign finance.
- Campaign Legal Center A nonpartisan, nonprofit organization which works in the areas of campaign finance, communications and government ethics. Represents the public interest in administrative and legal proceedings where the nation's campaign finance and related media laws are enforced: at the Federal Election Commission (FEC), the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), and in the courts.
- FairVote. An organization working on promoting voter turnout and fair representation Advocates for electoral reforms such as instant runoff voting, proportional representation, direct election of the president and automatic voter registration.
- Commission on Federal Election Reform, American University's Center for Democracy & Election Management provides the full report of election reform recommendations by President Jimmy Carter and James A. Baker III.
