• The American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) A national, nonpartisan organization of more than 10,000 scholars, administrators, and public managers in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and 49 other countries that is committed to the advancement of excellence in public service.
   
• The International City/County Management Association (ICMA) The professional and educational organization for chief appointed managers, administrators, and assistants in cities, towns, counties, and regional entities throughout the world. Provides technical and management assistance, training, and information resources to its members and the local government community.
   
• The National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA) An independent, non-partisan organization chartered by Congress to assist federal, state, and local governments in improving their effectiveness, efficiency, and accountability.
