Why are there health disparities?
Healthy people constitute a healthy society. Everyone should have an equal opportunity to receive quality health care and through healthy equity, this can be achieved. Unfortunately for some people from different races, ethnicities, and socioeconomic group, they receive inequalities in health care and collectively these are known as health disparities.
So why study health disparities? Health disparities affect all of our lives and the right career choice can make a difference. It is time to change the way we work toward eliminating these inequalities. It is up to all of us to create a healthy community.
Health Equity: A fair opportunity to attain…full health potential and, more pragmatically, that no one should be disadvantage from achieving this potential, if it can be avoided.
