The Undergraduate Neighborhood Development Internship Program, established in 1988, places undergraduate students as interns in a community development corporation or neighborhood-based organization involved in community revitalization. Undergraduate student interns receive invaluable work experience in a community development corporation. The internships provide students with hands-on experience of the skills and knowledge needed for a career in community development. Neighborhood interns are an important investment in the future of Cleveland's neighborhoods. They not only provide assistance to the community revitalization efforts of community development corporations, but the program develops a pool of entry-level employees that enables organizations to continue to fulfill their mission. Funding for the internships are paid for by financial institutions. The College of Urban Affairs also has two endowments: The George S. Dively Internship Endowment and the Harry Fager Endowment for Social Action, that support the internships. For information on contributing to the intern program, contact Phil Star phil@urban.csuohio.edu.
