Sung-Gheel Jang is an Assistant Professor of Urban Studies in the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urbana Affairs at Cleveland State University. He received his Ph.D. in Regional Planning from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and both his Master of City Planning and a B.S. in Landscape Architecture from Seoul National University in South Korea. Prior to joining the Levin College faculty, he worked at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he was a research associate with the Regional Economics Applications Laboratory and the Expert Planning Information Systems Laboratory and also taught Advanced Applications of GIS. His current research interests include simulation of the environmental and regional economic impacts of land use change; and the semantic interchange of planning information using the web ontology technologies.
