Charlie Post

Charlie Post has been a Project Manager / Research Associate in the Center for Housing Research & Policy (CHRP) at Cleveland State University since 1992. Previously, he was a Policy Analyst at The Center for Regional Economic Issues (REI) at Case Western Reserve University, a Research Analyst at Mathematica Policy Research (MPR) in Washington, D.C., and a Policy Analyst in the Department of Energy (DOE).

While at CHRP, Charlie has provided computer programming and data analysis related to the various facets of urban sprawl. In 1993 he wrote “Tax Base and Demographic Trends in the Cleveland Area”, and provided the data analysis for the “sequel”, “Tax Base Disparity: Development of Greater Cleveland’s Sapphire Necklace”. He also provided the data analysis, mapping and simulations for the report “Development Trends in Medina County Ohio”. For many years he wrote the report “Single-Family Homes Sales Appreciation: Cuyahoga County”. He has also assisted other programs in the center, including work on industrial clusters, manufacturing for the Industry Week annual analysis, a study of the economic impacts of the Cleveland Port Authority, and a study of affordable housing. He works on a regular basis with the Cuyahoga County Auditor data files, which allow for the tracking of sales, tax assessments, and delinquencies, among other variables.

Charlie earned a B.A. in Economics and Math from Earlham College, an M.A. in Economics from Washington University, and an M.S. in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie-Mellon University. He has been using SAS for over 20 years, has developed software using FoxPro and COBOL, and has written programs in C and VisualBasic. One of our happy customers can be seen in the photo with Charlie - together they had just finished squashing gourds of misinformation about local agricultural land.
