Dr. Bier has conducted housing studies for 25 years and has investigated the influence of public policies on cities. He has worked with local governments and community organizations to implement strategies for housing improvement. Dr. Bier has been instrumental in the development of the “first suburbs,” or inner ring suburbs movement. His articles on urban topics frequently appear on the forum page of The Plain Dealer. He holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from Case Western Reserve University and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Dayton.
