A graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College (BA) and Cleveland State University (M.Ed.), Suzanne Pokorny has been employed with Cleveland State University for over twenty years. Most recently her position involves managing the Urban Studies department, serving as College Human Resources Liaison and Scholarship Coordinator, as well as budget manager for the department and the Center for Leadership Development. Working closely with the Associate Dean, Ms. Pokorny especially values data projects that analyze student enrollment, although her favorite task of all is “awarding scholarships!”

Ms. Pokorny is a licensed professional counselor in the state of Ohio, and believes she uses her listening and mediation skills to strengthen student/faculty and faculty/staff relationships every day. She is a member of the Ohio Counseling Association.

Outside of her position with Cleveland State, Ms. Pokorny is an avid ultra-distance runner. She serves as Volunteer Coordinator for the Burning River 100 Endurance Race, USATF’s 100-mile Trail National Championship race that welcomes 300 runners and well over 350 volunteers each year to the Cleveland area.

Ms. Pokorny and her two daughters reside in Medina.
