Zoë Tyler currently holds the position of Director of the Center for Leadership Programs at Cleveland State University’s Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs. She has been with the University for over 20 years. Prior to coming to Cleveland State University Ms. Tyler was an instructor at Cuyahoga Community College. She also spent many years as a training consultant in Hamburg, Germany at the University of Hamburg, the Hamburger Volkeshochschule, and the International School of Hamburg.
Ms. Tyler received a B.F.A. degree from Ohio University graduating summa cum laude and a Master in Public Administration from Cleveland State University. At Ohio University she was a member of the Honors Society and was awarded a Certificate in International Affairs. She also has a Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from the Royal Society of the Arts, London, England and a Certificate in German Competency from the University of Hamburg, Hamburg, Germany.
At the College of Urban Affairs Zoë helped design and was program manager for the Ohio Executive Institute, a customized professional development program for the governor’s cabinet. This program represented a public/private partnership between the State of Ohio, Cleveland State University, and Case Western Reserve University. In addition, she established and administered the College’s State Legislative Internship Program. As a grant writer at the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority she successfully received funding for four federal Drug Elimination Grants, bringing millions of dollars to the housing authority for increased security and drug rehabilitation programs.
Zoë has worked on a team with the State of Ohio, Department of Administrative Services and various state universities on the Ohio Certified Public Manager (OCPM) Program. She served as the Site Manager for the Northeast Ohio OCPM program, chair of the OCPM Curriculum Committee, and was a member of the OCPM Advisory Board. Ms. Tyler has secured funding for the Center programming from numerous local, county, state, and federal sources. She has facilitated workshops for the State of Ohio, the City of Cleveland, Cuyahoga County and various local governments and nonprofit boards in northeast Ohio. She is an MBTI certified trainer and provides technical assistance in the areas of strategic planning, performance measurement, board governance training and instructional design.
