As part of an urban university, the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs takes to heart its role in bridging the worlds of academy and community. Central to the College's mission is enhancing the understanding of public policy issues and the quality of life in urban communities through civic education. The Forum is a program that formalizes, refocuses and expands the College's civic education initiatives.
In addition to bringing in expert speakers, the goals of the Forum are to offer a structure and process that deepens the community's understanding of urban issues. It helps to change the relationship between citizens and their government by preparing citizens to take action and inform public policy. Participating in the process of public deliberation will also inspire students to become more involved in civic affairs and to pursue public service careers.
The Forum is located in Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs Building on the Cleveland State University campus. View a map.
