Can volunteerism serve as an engine of positive community change and development?

Bring your lunch and learn about the findings from a recent study of nine communities that received grants from the Annie E. Casey Foundation to develop Volunteer Centers.

This panel presentation and discussion will involve the best thinking and experiential learning on building community capacity through volunteerism and public private partnerships.

The brief presentations will consider:

• How grassroots leadership training builds civic engagement and community capacity through social capital;
• How social asset mapping, organizing and planning builds process that developers community capacity;
• How partnerships with nonprofits lead to stronger communities and connections between one another.
