About the Beyond Foreclosure Series

The foreclosure crisis in Cuyahoga County did not happen overnight. Similarily, the strategies for moving our communities and residents Beyond Foreclosure will take time to evolve. Over the coming year, the Levin College Forum will hold a series of forums that will look Beyond Foreclosures to strategies for creating a new, more prosperous future for Northeast Ohio's neighborhoods and communities.

This series will explore some basic questions:

  • Where are our housing markets headed next?
  • Do we need to redefine the American Dream?
  • Are there viable alternatives to home-ownership?
  • What's next for homeowners who have lost their homes, their credit, and in some cases, their equity?
  • What's next for our neighborhoods and cities?
About Small Strategies that Work

This first forum in the series will focus on small scale housing strategies and projects that are new, creative, environmentally sustainable and invigorating to the marketplace. Challenging times are not new to Cleveland, and on this issue, where no roadmap exists, we can learn from our own expert practitioners who are creating a new path to our future, One Property at a Time.
