LCUA OUT AND ABOUT
Interim Dean Ned Hill was quoted in the Crain’s Cleveland Business article “Manufacturing climate freefall worsens in November.”  The article is only available on the web to subscribers.

CNNMoney.com interviewed and quoted Dr. Mikelbank in the article “Home sellers suffer amid wave of foreclosures“ about the difficulty ordinary home sellers are having due to all of the foreclosures.  Mikelbank made the case that the traditional market is on hold—anyone who can afford to do so is delaying the sale of their house until the market picks up.  The story is here: http://money.cnn.com/2008/12/02/real_estate/REOs_tough_on_sellers/index.htm

Professor Dennis Keating is interviewed in Inside Business in “A man with a plan?  Urban planning has been on the federal back burner.”  Click here to read the article.

Kirby Date and Professor Alan Weinstein were speakers for a public discussion on conservation development for the Copley Township Land Use Plan Steering Committee on December 4 at Copley Town Hall.  Date is the coordinator for the Countryside Program and Weinstein is a professor in both the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and the Levin College of Urban Affairs.  The Land Use Committee is studying the impacts of conservation development for Copley and how it might be included in the township’s comprehensive plan.  The draft copy of the proposed Comprehensive Land Use Plan is at www.copley.oh.us.

Sari Feldman, Levin College Visiting Committee and Forum Advisory Committee member was interviewed by the Plain Dealer in the December 7 article, “Library director not so quiet about loving Cleveland.”  View the article here.

The next ArcGIS Workshop will be held January 14, 15, and 16, 2009. The registration page and other details can be found at http://urban.csuohio.edu/nodis/workshops/gis_workshop_01_2009.html

Salvation Army Angel Tree Program sponsored by CSU/APA
'Tis the season for giving and CSU/APA is helping facilitate giving. The group has placed a Christmas tree in the Urban atrium that is dressed with needy children’s gift dreams. Please help make their dream a reality and give them a memorable holiday season. Select a child's dream and bring one of their gift requests wrapped and placed under the tree. Gifts should be placed under the tree no later than Tuesday, December 16, so gifts maybe taken to the shelter in time for their holiday celebration. Thank you in advance for your contribution.
