Levin Visiting Committee member Brad Whitehead, President of the Fund For Our Economic Future along with support from an economic analysis conducted by Cleveland State discusses the role of JumpStart, an Economic Development Group currently under the spotlight. Zoe Tyler, Director of the Center for Leadership Development, was quoted in the North Ridgeville Press about possible new ways of working to help Avon Lake with economic development. The Levin College is partnering with the University of Akron and the University of Mount Union on a new public policy research program, beginning with a panel discussion on “Civility and Ohio Politics” in May. Professor Ronnie Dunn has co-authored a book with Wornie Reed. The book is titled "Racial Profiling: Causes & Consequences " by Kendall-Hunt Publishing. Though it is to be a textbook, it was written for the general public as well. There will be book signings and discussions. The book is available on-line at www.kendallhunt.com. The Center for Leadership Development Begins Work with Cleveland Hopkins International Airport! -- The Center for Leadership Development will be delivering 5 full days of Public Management Academy workshops for participants in the Cleveland Hopkins "Accelerated Leadership Development Program". Classes will run from April through July, 2011. The Center for Leadership Development has been contracted to deliver more workshops over a two year period, so stay tuned! The Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs and the student chapter of the American Planning Association will be hosting a Networking and Informational event Saturday April 2nd, 10:00am-1:00pm in the Roberta Steinbacher Atrium for both current and perspective students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community leaders. This year the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs will honor Joseph Roman, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Cleveland Partnership. The event will be held at the historic Hanna Theater on Wednesday, June 1, 2011. More information will be forthcoming. CSU Alumni Association -- Distinguished Alumni Awards -- October 21, 2011. The Alumni Awards will be held on Friday, October 21, 2011 at the Inter Continental Hotel and Conference Center. The Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs will honor Madeline A. Cain. More information to follow. A unique new program invites students to spend SUMMER IN THE CITY at the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs. This 9-week internship program (June 13-August 12) offers the opportunity to experience how urban organizations really work, while spending most learning time out of the classroom. While CSU students are welcome, it is especially designed for students who attend college outside of Cleveland, are home for the summer, and want to earn credit that transfers to their schools.
