Forum Program-A Dialogue on Cap and Trade: A Response to Climate Change

Wednesday, June 17, 2009 . 3:30-5:30 p.m. Levin College Atrium
Presdented by NorTech's Advanced Energy Speaker Series and the Levin College Forum Program in partnership with MAGNET and The Greater Cleveland Partnership.

About the Forum: The debate over cap and trade in the United State has intensified since President Obama took office in January 2009 and made climate change legislation one of his top national priorities. Congress is currently considering legislation to limit greenhouse gas emissions and reduce the effects of pollution on our environment. A newly proposed national "cap and trade" system would set
a government ceiling on emissions and allow those companies emitting greenhouse gasses to buy and sell permits to meet the new regulations.

On June 17, a panel of experts will present a range of perspectives on the proposed cap and trade system and engage the public in an open discussion on this very timely topic. Join us as we explore "cap and trade," and how it could impact you and your community.
