Nonprofit Administration & Leadership Certificate - To accommodate the needs of the growing nonprofit sector, the Levin College has transformed the certificate program in nonprofit management to executive format. Beginning with the fall semester, students can obtain a Nonprofit Administration & Leadership Certificate in just nine months. Classes start August 27. The Center for Emergency Preparedness (CEP) will transition from the Division of Continuing Education to the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs, effective July 1, 2011. Director Becker, Business Associate Mangan, Equipment Specialist Fox and Administrative Assistant Nina Antonik will all transition to the College of Urban Affairs. All of the previous classes -- and more, will be offered beginning the first part of July, 2011!

You are cordially invited to attend Vinola Vincent Munyon's prospectus defense on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. in the Sweet Room. Vinola's prospectus is entitled: "Vehicle Fuel Economy And Vehicle Miles Traveled: An Empirical Investigation Of Jevons' Paradox.".


Out and About

Jeffrey L. Brudney, Albert A. Levin Chair of Urban Studies and Public Service, was invited to participate at the 2011 National Conference on Volunteering and Service at a policy forum entitled, "What Works?: A Summit on Building an Evidence Base of Service as a Strategy," on June 5. Dr. Brudney spoke at the session, which convened a select group of about 25 policymakers, practitioners, funders, and researchers to discuss how to strengthen evidence to demonstrate the effectiveness and impact of volunteer programs in addressing community needs. Dr. Brudney also led a session at the National Conference on Performance Measurement.
