Nick Zingale has been asked to judge the Cleveland Crain's Emerald Awards that recognize "Northeast Ohio's 2009 Champions of Sustainability - the triple bottom line of Profits, People and Planet". The ceremony will take place on September 22. Nick Zingale will also be the keynote panel moderator for the 4th Annual Northern Ohio Energy Management Conference. It will be held in Akron at the John S. Knight Center on October 7. "U.S. Senate candidate Jennifer Brunner promises to make cities a priority". APA Ohio Planning Conference "To Sustainability and Beyond"The APA-Ohio Planning Conference "To Sustainability and Beyond" conference is on September 23, 24, 25, 2009 at the Sheraton Suites Akron-Cuyahoga Falls in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. The conference theme is sustainable planning practices and alternatives. There will be over 40 sessions on sustainability, smart growth, comprehensive planning, code writing, historic preservation, transportation planning and community development. In addition, James Howard Kunstler author of "The Long Emergency" is the Keynote Speaker on Friday (September 25th) and Randall G. Arendt will teach the professional development session on Wednesday (September 23rd). Finally, you can also participate in five very interesting mobile workshop sessions that include kayaking on the Cuyahoga River and biking along the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath. Feeding Cleveland Photo Contest, Deadline Extended Deadline for submissions : Monday, September 21, 2009 Cuyahoga County Government Reform Save the Date!! The push to reform Cuyahoga County government is on and so is the debate over what that restructuring should look like. Competing reform plans are now slated to appear on the November ballot.
