Reuse of Stone for Sacred StructuresThere have been excellent examples of the use of previously used stone for sacred structures in northeastern Ohio. Cleveland Heights' St. Ann Church utilized stone columns and other structures from hotels in Cleveland and New York, while Cleveland's St. Francis Church used exterior stone from the Old Cleveland Post Office. In both cases, this was done for economic reasons. Lakewood's St. James Church and Cleveland's St. Ignatius Church may include stone pillars that were manufactured in Roman times.
