Dr. Mikelbank is an urban and economic geographer,
with
varied interests in quantitative spatial analysis and GIS
applications. His current research interests and projects include:
- Investigation into the geographic shifts of
residential and economic
activity in the Cleveland metropolitan area.
- Spatial analysis of local housing markets,
including the impact of government actions (such as tax abatement,
transportation investments, and development restrictions).
- Spatial classification of neighborhoods and
suburbs.
- Application of geostatistical techniques to
research problems in urban geography.
