2004 Christopher Ronayne, 1996 MUPDD

Chris Ronayne was named Cleveland City Planning Director by Mayor Jane Campbell in January 2002. As Director, Mr. Ronayne coordinates the activities of the Planning Commission and its affiliated agencies, the Landmarks Commission, the Board of Zoning Appeals, and the Design Review Committee. As Chief City Planner, Ronayne directs the update of Cleveland's Citywide Plan and oversees project developments such as the innerbelt reconstruction, the new Cleveland Lakefront Plan, and neighborhood revitalization strategies in the city.

Before joining the City of Cleveland, Mr. Ronayne served as a Manager with the Cuyahoga County Department of Development, Executive Staff to the Cuyahoga County Commissioners, and as a member of the Cuyahoga County Planning Commission. Before returning to graduate school in Cleveland, Mr. Ronayne worked in private industry.

In 2001, Mr. Ronayne served as campaign manager for Jane Campbell's mayoral run and as a member of the mayor's transition team. Mr. Ronayne holds a B.A. from Miami University and an M.A. in Urban Planning, Design and Development from Cleveland State University's Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs.

Mr. Ronayne currently serves as a board member to the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA), the County Planning Commission, and the Citizen's League.
