Position: Major Trial Unit Intern
Company / Organization: County Prosecutor’s Office

FUNCTION: 
Interns will work to support the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Major Trial Unit (MTU). Projects may include assisting in the preparation for trial of homicide and sexual assault cases. In addition, interns will assist in the coordination of a multiple agency review of ongoing homicide and sexual assault investigations. There will also be an opportunity to work on reviewing applications for conviction integrity reviews.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Position: Communications Intern

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Position: Crime Strategies Intern

FUNCTION:
Interns will work to support the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Crime Strategies Unit. Projects may include supporting the prosecutor’s security map app program, the “Daily Incidents Analysis Report,” and acting as intelligence support for gang and serial offense cases.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Assist the prosecutor’s office to develop and maintain relationships with law enforcement partners as well as community stakeholders; 
  • Assist with data extraction from multiple police records management systems; 
  • Read and synthesize police reports to learn about violence occurring in different police jurisdictions; 
  • Enter data into CCPO violent crime database; 
  • Help to identify possible trends, patterns, and crime series in our database; 
  • Clean and manage the data that are stored in violent crime database; 
  • Assist with criminal history details of potential prolific offenders that have been identified by detective and prosecutors; 
  • Create maps related to individual cases being handled by the Crime Strategies Unit;
  • Assists with data collection, cleaning, and entry into the CCPO Security Camera Database;
  • Assist in analyzing jail calls, social media postings and phone records; 
  • Assist in making connections between seemingly unrelated shootings and crimes.

Position: Mobility Manager

The Mobility Manager is a specialized position with the Licking County Area Transportation Study (LCATS) and has a focus upon communication, collaboration and logistical efforts.  As part of our team, the Mobility Manager will be responsible for the mobility management program, maximizing use of alternative modes of transportation to decrease isolation and improve quality of life for older adults, people with disabilities and people with low income.  The Mobility Manager is also empowered to seek out additional trip service providers, initiate or assist in the development of new services that meet trip demand and coordinating partnerships for the services needed.  All tasks and goals of the position are derived from the LCATS Long Range Transportation Plan and the Coordinated Plan.

Position: Planning Intern

Marketing Intern

The Recreation Operation Intern will assist the Recreation Department with a multitude of projects that will include assisting in the oversight and management of any/all recreational facilities and operations. The intern will learn day-to-day management of specific areas of city recreational facilities which may include: the Umerley Civic Center, the Hamilton Ice Arena, the Municipal Outdoor Pool and/or the ten city parks. Position: Children’s Activities Coordinator

Position: Neighborhood Development Associate

Job Description:
The Neighborhood Development Associate is a new position created to support staff in managing the external real estate development taking place in Ohio City. Responsibilities include facilitating the local landmarks design review committee, working with our staff, developers, and the city of Cleveland to help shape projects, assisting professionals through the City of Cleveland’s permitting process, and assisting staff with community engagement and outreach around proposed projects.

Position: Operations Intern

Position: Urban Planning Internship
Company / Organization: City of Lakewood

The City of Lakewood is seeking an Intern to work directly with Planning & Development staff to gain hands-on practical experience working on residential, commercial and planning projects within the City. It is our objective to provide the intern with a multi-disciplinary experience using the latest technology to support his or her work. The intern will spend their time working individually and collaboratively to complete assigned projects within a given timeline. This is a paid internship and a 29-hour work week is preferred. This internship is anticipated to run through May of 2022.

The Department of Planning and Development works on a variety of projects involving residential and commercial development, affordable housing, and varied planning functions including resiliency, zoning, and public infrastructure master planning. The intern will gain experience in several areas with a focus affordable housing programs, implementing federal funded programs, supporting the work of our Boards and Commissions, zoning analysis, and other projects as assigned. Some flexibility to attend evening meetings with the community would be desired.

Note: Candidate must be currently enrolled in at least their junior year within an Urban Planning or similar curriculum. Master’s degree students are preferred.
