Christopher Alvarado (MUPDD ’99) has been nominated by Cuyahoga County Executive Chris Ronayne (MUPDD ‘96) to lead the Department of Regional Collaboration. In this pivotal role, Alvarado will spearhead initiatives aimed at fostering collaborative efforts and driving growth across the county.


Levin College of Public Affairs and Education graduate Angie Schmitt (MUPD ‘12) has been recognized by Planetizen as one of 100 people making an impact of planning and cities today on their list of the most influential contemporary urbanists.


Chris Ronayne (MUPDD ‘96) elected as Cuyahoga County Executive. Throughout his career, Ronayne worked for the Cuyahoga County Planning Commission, then as former Cleveland Mayor Jane Campbell’s planning director and finally as her chief of staff before heading University Circle Inc., for 16 years. He also served on Canalway Partners’ and Port of Cleveland’s boards.


Cleveland.com recently featured Levin College of Public Affairs and Education graduate, Meg Ryan Shockey, as she announced her mayoral campaign in Brooklyn. Shockey, who has been a member of the Brooklyn City Council for more than five years, currently serves as City Council President.
