Marcia Fudge Meets with Levin College Faculty, Staff, and Students to Discuss Homeownership Equity and Opportunity

On June 18, Marcia L. Fudge, Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary, spoke at Cleveland State University for an event organized by the Black Homeownership Collaborative to celebrate Juneteenth and National Homeownership Month, and to announce a plan called “3 by 30,” which aims to help African Americans own a net of 3 million more homes nationwide by 2030.

Prior to the conference, Secretary Fudge met with CSU President Harlan M. Sands and Maxine Goodman Levin School of Urban Affairs faculty, staff, and students over lunch to discuss action by HUD to make it easier for borrowers with student debt to qualify for federally guaranteed mortgages. A tweet shared by Secretary Fudge says HUD’s new policy is another step in their mandate to promote equity and opportunity for homeownership. Public service was a key feature of the luncheon. Over twenty Levin students attended.
