Meet Breanna Radigan

OCE Breanna Radigan Image.jpgAfter being part of Viking Corps, what do you feel you have been able to learn about the community or people you serve?
I have been able to learn that food pantries can provide so much more than just food. Such as health products, hygiene products, and clothing. Also, that dedicated and nice volunteers can truly make the experience enjoyable for clients.

What benefits do you feel you gained from being part of the Viking Corps program and getting to work with me and the program's staff?
I absolutely love that this program has been able to get me back into volunteering after I had to stop due to schedule conflicts. It always brings me so much joy to be back where I feel that I am making an important impact through volunteering.

What rewarding or special experiences have you had working at Audrey's Outreach?
Some of the most rewarding moments for me are the ones that showcase a clients gratefulness and joy. For instance when I am able to find specific things they asked for and then to watch their faces light up when they get the products. I also try to do my best to make the experience fun and similar to shopping, trying to provide many options to choose from and truly make the clients feel respected and cared for. I also love to see kids' faces light up when I have goodie bags of candy to hand out to them as the adult’s paperwork is processed.

What impact do you think you have on your community by working at Audrey's Outreach?
I believe that my work at the Outreach is providing a fun and positive experience for clients when they come to get products.
